Europe has no borders but the borders in the Middle East are always under the tension, especially in Israel. When you see borders in Israel, you will understand the Geopolitics. Israel-Jordan border is very simple without military presence because Jordan is politically stable without the presence of terrorist groups. Israel-Lebanon border is heavily armed because of continuing threats from Hezbollah even after a number of wars.
Israel-Egypt border is also heavily guarded not because of hostile relationship with Egypt but because of smuggling terrorists from Egypt such as Muslim Brotherhood, the ISIS, and Hamas which can easily come through the Sinai peninsular. Israel-Syria border is not an exception as Syria always has been – still is – the major enemy which plays a Proxy War representing the interests of Iran. Israel-Gaza border is the worst which is almost always under the armed conflicts.
